Emergency Response: Myanmar Earthquake Relief (March 2025)

On March 28, 2025, a catastrophic 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar, devastating 68 regions, destroying homes, schools, and critical infrastructure, and leaving thousands dead or injured. We are urgently mobilizing aid to:

  • Deliver life-saving medical supplies to treat the injured, including vulnerable children.
  • Distribute food packages and clean drinking water to displaced families.
  • Provide temporary shelters and tents for those who lost their homes
  • Equip rescue teams with tools to extract survivors from rubble amid challenging conditions.

Ongoing Initiatives for Democracy and Human Rights

Beyond emergency relief, we work tirelessly to support Myanmar’s journey toward lasting peace and democracy:

  1. Advocacy and Policy Influence
    • Campaigning within the Netherlands and the EU to amplify international pressure for Myanmar’s democratic restoration.
    • Collaborating with global networks to advocate for sanctions against the military regime.
  2. Empowering Civil Society
    • Partnering with grassroots organizations in Myanmar to strengthen local governance, human rights monitoring, and community resilience.
    • Funding initiatives that protect activists, journalists, and vulnerable groups.
  3. Education and Capacity Building
    • Providing resources for civic education, legal training, and digital security to empower pro-democracy movements.
    • Supporting educational programs for displaced children and youth.
  4. Humanitarian Aid
    • Delivering sustained support to refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by ongoing conflict.
    • Facilitating access to healthcare, psychosocial support, and livelihood resources.
