✊ Stand Up for Human Rights in Myanmar

“Justice. Freedom. Dignity. For All.”

In Myanmar, basic human rights are under attack. Since the 2021 military coup, the people of Myanmar have endured violent crackdowns, mass arrests, and brutal suppression of free speech, protest, and civil liberties. Peaceful demonstrators, healthcare workers, educators, artists, and even children have been detained, tortured, and killed for standing up for democracy and truth.

The Netherlands-Myanmar Solidarity Platform stands with the people of Myanmar in their fight for freedom, justice, and dignity. Our Human Rights Campaign aims to raise global awareness, call for international accountability, and provide direct support to those on the frontlines of resistance.

What’s Happening in Myanmar?

  • Widespread human rights violations: including arbitrary detention, torture, and extrajudicial killings

  • Targeting of ethnic minorities: particularly in Rakhine, Kachin, Chin, and Karen states

  • Crackdown on civil society: journalists, students, and activists are criminalized for speaking out

  • Internet blackouts & media censorship: silencing the truth and isolating communities from the world

  • Militarization of civilian areas: forcing thousands to flee and become internally displaced
